Our history and heritage is so important, not just to preserve our history, but because it provides an opportunity in the present to strengthen and bind communities. Penny founded the Wymering Manor Trust to save and develop for the community an ancient Manor House. Mentioned in the Doomsday book the manor now is a community hub, providing rooms, performance space, catering facilities and projects for local people.
Penny is patron of Enable Ability, a charity which provides support, employment support opportunities, activities and respite care for families with a person with learning or behavioural disability. With the right support and opportunity these young people can achieve incredible things.
The Music Man Project provides materials and opportunities for people with learning disabilities to perform music. Their materials are supporting schools and music hubs across the UK and around the world. Their ambassadors have played some of the world’s best and unique venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, The USS Midway and the Nova Scotia Military tattoo. Their next stop is Broadway! Penny help found a partnership with the Royal Marines band service, and together they produced a top 10 Christmas single.
Do Not Look Away is a film project to shine a light on the untold stories of the people of Ukraine and others across the world who are helping their struggle. What happens in Ukraine and how the war ends is critical to all democracies, especially those in Europe.
President of Portsmouth Hospitals League of Friends
Penny was a hospital visitor for eight years, touring the ward every week to spent time with those who had no one to visit them. That experience sparked her interest in older peoples care and quality of life. In 2024 the League asked her to become their President.
TEAM LEWIS Foundation donates time, money and creative services to help charitable organizations achieve their ambitions. Currently funding over 2000 causes across the UK and around the world, the Foundation is a trailblazer for employee led philanthropy.
Penny works with the Foundation to support their grant giving and support the leadership of micro charities and causes.
Penny believes that Britain is a force for good in the world. From its incredible business, scientists, charities and institutions it has changed the world for the better and helped improve lives. When Britain is strong, safe and prosperous the world is better for it.
Penny chairs the Coalition for Global Prosperity to educate and support leaders in every field have a positive impact in the world.
The Royal Navy Reserve and MCM2 Squadron
Penny continues to serve as an Honorary Officer of the Royal Navy Reserve. She undertakes projects from fundraising to mentoring to assist the fleet and support those serving in it. She is affiliated to MCM2 Squadron, the UKs mine hunters and Ocean patrol vessels, and the clearance divers who do underwater bomb disposal.
Museum of the Prime Minister (MoPM) is an independent organisation with a mission to establish a permanent museum in central London where visitors can explore the achievements, decisions and lives of British Prime Ministers - a museum about our past to educate our future – which will aim to both educate and entertain visitors of all ages.
The Commission on Antisemitism
Penny Co-chairs the Board of Deputies Commission on Antisemitism alongside The Lord Mann. It aims to provide some additional ways to tackle this scourge in society. The work will include tacking evidence from law enforcement about the tools they need to combat it and keep communities safe.
